Well, I started the major project of doing our Christmas Cards today.

UHU Sample

I tried out this UHU glue roller today on my newest layouts - and it's really cool! The sticky part of it isn't nearly as thick as Xyron - but it sticks even better! You just have to watch out - because once you stick something down - it's down there! I was looking for some refills today for them, and I'm not sure where to get any though! :(

Starting on Monday 4/9, I start working at the store here on campus! I got a call this morning saying that I passed my background check (not that I had any real worries!) So I'm back to having a full time job - but at least it's not in retail! :)

Wednesday March 14:

Today we went back to Westminster Abbey to go inside and look around at all the tombs that are in there.

Unfortunately they do not allow photography indoors. But there were some really big tombs in there for all the past kings and queens that were burried in there. That's also the place where they have weddings and funerals for royalty. That's where the Queen Mum had her funeral about 5 years ago, and where Princess Diana and Prince Charles were wed years ago.

From the Abbey, we went to the British Museum and looked around.

We ended the day by going the that Hard Rock Cafe. It's the first one to open in all of the chains! It was such a small place, and had to wait forever to get in, but it was well worth it - the food was great!

Thursday March 15:

We started the day by going to Harrod's department store, and got lots of gifts for some of our family members and everything.

Then we went back to Picadilly Circus to take some pictures. It's considered NYC for London.

From there, we took a double decker tour bus around the city for 2.5 hours. Some of the scenes we had seen before, but not everything. And also, we got to hear all the history behind somethings as well.

And that was basically it!

We went back to the hotel and took it easy on our last night, as we were exhausted from doing everything in the past few days.

London (Part 2)

Monday March 12:
We started the day by going to the Tower of London. There, we walked around the courtyard and everything, and had a tour by one of the guards that live there.

We also got to see the crown jewels that are in the center there. Too bad they don't allow photography though in there. There were a lot of old crowns from old King's and Queen's. Some of them are very elaborate with all the jewels!

It was also in the tower, where they would behead the royalty. (Everyone else would be done outside the tower for all to see, but not royalty!) Here is a memorial they had to all the royalty that had died there.

After the tower, we went to Tower Bridge! We got to take the tour through there, but thankfully did not have to walk up the 300+ stairs, as there was an elevator.

We got to walk around between the 2 towers in the walkways and got to look out and take some great pics of the river. From there we went down the river, and took a river cruise, and got to see the sites all along the Thames River.

After the boat ride, we were by Westminster Abbey, so we figured we would at least go take some pictures of the outside, as they were already closed for the day. So we go to walk by, and there's this massive group of people with all these cops around. So John asked the cop what was happening, and he said it was some kind of holiday, and that all the heads of state basically were in there and about to come out - including the Queen! So, because it wasn't like we were pressed for time, we stood around and waited. A little over 1/2 hour later, a bunch of people came out, and near the end, there was the Queen!!

So that just made our day right then and there, because not many people can say they saw the Queen like that! So, we continued on down the street or so, and passed New Scotland Yard.

And then we ended up at Buckingham Palace shortly after the Queen had arrived home.

We ended the day by going on the London Eye. Not so great pictures taken during the ride, as it was night time and really thick glass. But this is the ride...it constantly moves at around 1/2 mile and hour, and makes one full rotation every 1/2 hour.

Tuesday March 13:

So we basically picked up where we left off, and went back to Buckigham Palace to see the changing of the guard. Because it's the winter time, they only do it every other day. So, because we had read to get there early, we were there about 3 hours before they started. And thankfully we did, as we got to stand right at the street line, and nobody was in front of us!

In one of the carriages at the end, was the Queen again - so we got to see her twice in 2 days! So cool!

From there, we went to Madame Tussands Wax Museum, and got to hang out with all the wax celebrities!

Very cool place to go and to see a bunch of different celebrities!

After that we, took a really long walk through the park to get to the London Zoo. Thanfully we got there right before they stopped admitting people. So it was quite desterted, as most kids had gone home for the day - so we got to look around easier then we probably would have. They had a lot of birds there, and lots of animals that you wouldn't see in the states. Like wild dogs!

Saturday March 10:

Well, John and I wake up, and get dressed, and making sure we have everything for our trip. John goes to clean his glasses (like he does everyday) and what happens? They break right in the bridge! Clean break, but such a small bridge in between the lenses, that taping doesn't seem to work, nor does super glue! So....needless to say...John went the whole week without his glasses! Thankfully he did pretty well! Thankfully he doesn't need them for distance - just to clear things up.

Anyways...we get to the airport, get on the plane, just about to take off...and the radar goes down. For 45 mins we were stuck on the runway because we couldn't take off without radar! Anyways...we get up off the air, make it to NY no problems. Walk around the airport, get on the next flight. Get on the next flight, pull away from the gate, and then the captain comes on saying that we're number 47 to take off. We had some time to kill. So an extra hour on runway, but then we were finally on our way!

Sunday March 11:

Get to London!!! Woo Hoo!! Made it through customs and everything make it on the express train into the city, had a lil problem as our underground train to our station was closed for the weekend, so we had to go around and figure that all out, but thankfully that didn't take us too much longer. Made it to the hotel, and passed out for a few hours, as we both didn't get much sleep on the plane.

Decided to head to the London Aquarium, and at least get something seen for the day!

We came out of the Aquarium at sunset, and took a few good pics of Big Ben. Did you know that the tower that we see when we talk about Big Ben isn't Big Ben? It's acutally the bell inside that is called Big Ben. And there's 4 smaller bells around Ben that strike at every 15 mins, and every hour Big Ben chimes!

Was there for awhile, and then we went to Planet Hollywood for dinner. There was a lot of bdays there that night! Saw Picadilly Square at night - but didn't take any real pictures, but then came back to the hotel and passed out!

Fall

I love picking out pumpkins, and then carving them. However, ever since I went away to college 6 years ago, I really haven't done it. My family would always go to the local farm to buy pumpkins when we were in IL, but since we moved to MA, it's always getting our pumpkins at the local grocery store. But one thing I used to love growing up was going to Freight Fest at Six Flags. That's one thing I will always remember doing. I don't know, why, but I just used to love it. I would love going to Six Flags during the summer and everything, but going during Freight Fest would just be the best, as all the employees would be dressed up and everything.
One thing I do enjoy about being in New England now, is that all the leaves changing, as there is way more trees around here then in IL. Taking a drive anywhere around here is so pretty!
I do need to go buy a pumpkin so I can have it at my place, but maybe I'll just paint this one. Cleaning up the pumpkin stuff was never one of the things I liked....

Animals and Cars

If I could be a car - I would love to be a Jeep! I don't really know why - probably because I've always have wanted a Jeep! Not a jeep wrangler - but a Jeep Cherokee. That way I could go play up in the mountains and stuff, and not have to go hiking! I get out of breath with my asthma sometimes.
And for an animal? I would love to be a puppy! I just love how everyone plays with them and gives them so much attention and everything. I would love to be a lil puppy that never grows up!

Elementary School Memories...

Let's see...I'll start with the sad, and end up on a better note!
The worst memory I have, is probably just the saddest. When I was in 3rd grade, my classmate passed away. I can't remember what kind of disease he had, but we all knew he was sick, and one Sunday I was at church, and the priest made the annoucements of who had passed that week, and Matthew was in there. I remember going to school the next day, and the entire school was so quiet. Matthew wasn't one of my close friends, but I had gone to school with him since kindergarten, and he was in my CCD class. So it hit hard, but not as bad as it would have been if I had known him better....
On to my best memory...that would have to be in 2nd grade. I had the coolest teacher EVER. Mr. Krugly stood on our desks, always made us laugh - and last but certainly not least - taught us how to write in cursive with shaving cream! To this day I get a lil smile on my face every time I see shaving cream! It was such a creative way, and like my mom said later on, it was a great way to clean the desks!

I should have put in my latest post that the day John came home for the weekend, he sent me sunflowers (my favorite!) I knew something was up when he knew I had the day off and he told me to stay at home. Well, that's because he wanted to make sure I got these gorgeous flowers! They were to celebrate our 1 year anniversary because we were celebrating the weekend he was home instead of doing it tomorrow - on the 14th! But I did want to show you all a pic of these great big sunflowers!

There's so many different ones all over Boston and I guess they'll be auctioning them off within the next few weeks for charity! And sadly, these pics are the only ones I took all weekend! :(

It's FINALLY Friday!!!

I've been waiting for this day to come ever since I came home from Pittsburgh! John finally is coming home for the next 4 days! I can't wait to see him around 5 tonight at the train station! :) I really don't want Monday night to come, because that's when he's leaving though! But we're going to have a really great 4 days together! Oh I'm sooo excited! And now I have to go finish cleaning up my apartment!

There's a few things in life that I really would like...
I would really like to settle down with a guy (and I would really like it to be with the boy I'm with now) and for once, I really do want to have kids. Mind you I just want one, maybe two at the most. But I've always said how I didn't want kids, but lately, I've realized that's what I would really want. I would love to be financially secure. I'm making it by just barely now on my own, I would love to be able to be with somebody and know that I'm okay. Not just financially but having someone to depend on. Well, at least just to be there for me. And I would love it that when and if the time comes, I would be able to take care of my parents when the time would come. For the first time in my life, I want a family! And if I finally rid myself of these damn allergies, I'd also love to have a dog or two as well - but that's not that important to me as the rest of things!
....that's what I'd really like...

Favorite TV show: I used to always say Friends and ER, now it's 24!!!

Best date you ever went on: Probably the first real big date me and my boyfriend went on right after we started dating. It was my 23rd birthday, and he took me to Providence (about 1/2 hour from here) and we ate at Fire and Ice (which is SUCH a good restuarant now!). Anyways, after we walked around downtown Providence as it is such a nice clean city. We then walked along the rivers where they had this "waterfire" going on. Basically in the center of the river for like 2 miles, there is little fire pits all going up and down the river. We never made it all the way down to the end, but it was such a site! And sitting there watching the fire on the water, is where he told me he loved me! It was soo incredibly romantic! And now I wish he was here and not 600 miles away so I could run and give him a big kiss as I miss him so much!!

Your most fave friend: Coree - she's always there for me. And she is just so much fun to be around!!

7/24 Blog Challenge

The one that really pops in my head, I was telling some of my associates the other day actually! I was probably in the 3rd or 4th grade, and I was playing soccer with my best friend who lived right behind me. Me and Ian were in my yard, having a good time, we always played some kind of sport. Anyways, just as Ian was about to score a goal on me, I got stung by a bee. I screeched so loud that Ian's mom came running out of their house towards me. However, because my house was closed up with central air, my mom didn't hear a thing! Anyways, come to find out Ian's mom was washing her favorite dishes and almost smashed them because I screeched so darn loudly! Thankfully I'm not allergic to bees, but to this day I can still see Ian's mom face when she realized I was okay.
